Thanks for asking! I'm a 24 year old citizen looking to make a difference in my hometown. Years of engagement at Simon Fraser University during my Political Science Honours Degree, as well as working alongside organizations such as Greenpeace, David Suzuki Foundation & Dogwood BC have shown me the value in political advocacy and change.
Port Coquitlam is a beautiful place to live, and a wonderful place to raise a family. I’m grateful my parents did, purchasing a home here in 2001. Back then, you could purchase a house for less than $300 000.
This isn’t the world we live in today. Not only is purchasing a home unachievable for most, but rent prices are astronomically high. When I moved out after university, I had to leave the city I love to find workable accommodations. Despite what feels like a bleak outlook, I’ve come back to fight.
We can build a Port Coquitlam that the next generation of families can live & thrive in; to do this, we need to actively fight this affordability crisis.
I’m living through this affordability crisis myself. I live with 2 roommates to keep rent manageable. I’m running a campaign on a budget of a little over $2000 all of which is from friends, family, and myself.
I’m running because I believe I can be a strong voice on council to achieve tangible wins on affordability. I’m running because I believe we can win these fights in a way that protects our green spaces & ecosystems. I’m running to amplify your voice, and advocate for what you need to thrive in our city.
I’m running because I believe in Port Coquitlam.
When I’m on council, we’re going to work with developers that will deliver truly affordable housing, not developers looking to line their pocketbooks.
When I’m on council, we’ll take every measure to keep our environment a healthy place for us to live.
When I’m on council, you will be heard.
My experiences in political advocacy, communication, and passion for Canadian governance are crucial in delivering results for the people of Port Coquitlam. The fact that I'm living through the problems we're experiencing has fuels my passion for finding solutions.
I know you're stressed about housing affordability - I'm feeling the pressure too. I'm going to go to bat for you at city hall, in the media, and at the MLA's office. I'm not going to stand down, because in a crisis, standing down is not an option. We need help, and I'll combine my institutional knowledge with compassion to push forward.
My strengths in conflict resolution & problem solving are going to help bring council together to deliver solutions to our problems. As President of SFU's Political Science Student Union, I unified a politically-diverse executive. As a Campaign Strategist, I've helped groups present a clear vision, and achieve tangible wins.
As a member of your city council, I'll do the same.
When you combine my genuine love for Port Coquitlam, my lived-experiences and my dedication to problem solving, you get me - somebody ready to advocate on your behalf for the next 4 years.
Absolutely! Outside of politics, I love obscenely long walks, hanging out with my pets (Charlie, Peter and Lily), and making music.
